Course Content
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- Preparing to work safely near live electrical apparatus including risk assessment
- Identifying electrical apparatus and infrastructure and voltage levels.
- Understanding Safe Approach Distances (SADs) for workers, tools, plant, and equipment.
- Compliance with legislation, standards, codes of practice, and organisational workplace requirements.
- The role and responsibilities of a safety observer when working near electrical apparatus.
- Understanding access authorities and permits.
- Using appropriate plant, tools, and PPE near live electrical infrastructure.
- Communication methods and coordination with safety observers.
- Incident response procedures.
- Completing work records, reports, and documentation.

Participants complete a series of online assessment activities and tasks.
