From 1st January 2015, Admire Workplace Safety can be prevented from issuing you with a nationally recognised VET qualification or statement of attainment when you complete your course if you do not have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). In addition, we are required to include your USI in the data we submit to NCVER.

Why we collect your personal information

As a registered training organisation (RTO), we collect your personal information so we can process and manage your enrolment in a vocational education and training (VET) course with us.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to enable us to deliver VET courses to you, and otherwise, as needed, to comply with our obligations as an RTO.

How we disclose your personal information

We are required by law (under the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011 (Cth) (NVETR Act)) to disclose the personal information we collect about you to the National VET Data Collection kept by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER). The NCVER is responsible for collecting, managing, analysing and communicating research and statistics about the Australian VET sector.

We are also authorised by law (under the NVETR Act) to disclose your personal information to the relevant state or territory training authority.

How the NCVER and other bodies handle your personal information

The NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the NVETR Act. Your personal information may be used and disclosed by NCVER for purposes that include populating authenticated VET transcripts; administration of VET; facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage; and understanding the VET market. The NCVER is authorised to disclose information to the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), Commonwealth authorities, State and Territory authorities (other than registered training organisations) that deal with matters relating to VET and VET regulators for the purposes of those bodies, including to enable:

  • administration of VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation
  • facilitation of statistics and research relating to education, including surveys and data linkage
  • understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information

The NCVER may also disclose personal information to persons engaged by NCVER to conduct research on NCVER’s behalf.

The NCVER does not intend to disclose your personal information to any overseas recipients.

Description

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry - Queensland
A White Card is a requirement to work in any type of construction role in Australia. This course is approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and applies to workers whose need to enter operational construction zones including, but not limited to, any types of tradespeople, engineers, project managers, quantity surveyors, traffic controllers, cleaners, site administrators, caterers and machine operators. It will also be a requirement for you to be able to submit for an owner builders permit with your local council.

Upon successful completion of the this White Card course you will be issued with a Workplace Health & Safety QLD White Card as well as a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.

Duration

The duration of the Whitecard course in Queensland via ZOOM is approximately 5 hours

Assessment

The White Card course (CPCWHS1001 ) will cover the following topics and you will be assessed to ensure you have the basic knowledge and skills to work safely on a construction site:

– Current Australian Health and Safety legislative requirements
– What hazards and risks are, and how to control them
– Principles of risk management
– Your duty of care as a person or entity entering a construction site
– The different types of Work Health & Safety documentation and reporting processes
– How to respond to emergency situations
– Fire safety training including use of different types of fire extinguishers
– The meaning of different types of safety signs and symbols
– Correct use of different types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The assessment process is broken into 3 sections and will include a written assessment, a question and verbal answer assessment and a practical assessment.

Entry

There are no entry requirements, although each participant in must be at least 14 years old.

Qualification

Each successful participant will receive the following

– Statement of Attainment CPCWHS1001 Prepare To Work Safely in The Construction Industry
– Your physical White Card issued on behalf of Workplace Health & Safety QLD

Equipment

In order to complete Whitecard training in Queensland you must have the following

– Computer / Mobile Phone or Tablet with a stable internet connection as well as suitable seating arrangements, such as a office/study desk or dinning table with quiet surroundings where you will be undisturbed.

– Each participants must be at least 14 years of age when they start the training and be able to read and write in the English language.

– 100 points of identification – Click here to be able to see the different types of ID that can be used as well as the points structure. All ID must be with you on the day to be able to show the trainer in a private break away room so that your identity can be correctly verified.

– Unique Student Identifier (USI Number) – It is a requirement for every student that is undertaking nationally recognized vocational education and training to have a USI. The USI provides you with a transcript of the training you have successfully completed and be used to provide evidence of competence to employers. – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – As part of the mandatory assessment, you will be required to demonstrate the correct fitting and wearing of specific PPE items including a hi-vis vest/ shirt or jacket, hard hat, ear plugs or ear muffs and safety glasses or safety goggles. These items can all be borrowed from a friend or relative or they can be easily purchased from your local hardware store, such as Bunnings for less than $20.

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST MEET ALL THESE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE ENROLLING INTO THE COURSE OTHERWISE YOU MAY BE REFUSED ENTRY AND WILL HAVE TO PAY A FEE TO BOOK THE COURSE AGAIN.

Delivery

The full course will be run online via real time connected delivery, more commonly known as ZOOM. Once you have enrolled and checked out a ZOOM link will be sent to your email. This course can be completed using either a computer, mobile phone or tablet. You do not require a zoom account to be able to attend the course.

Notes

It is essential to note that you must have your PPE on the day of your scheduled class as well as your original documents of the 100 points of ID. Digital copies are perfectly fine however photos of documents will not be accepted.

Please be advised that any cancellations of bookings made less than 2 days of the course commencement date will not be refunded. If you have given more than 2 days notice for a cancellation, you will be entitled to a 50% discount on your next booking. This is to cover the cost of trainers who are scheduled prior to the course commencement and other fees incurred by Admire Workplace Safety.

Unique Student Identifier You are required to have a Unique Student Identifier to undertake this training. If you do not have one, you can get one by going to https://www.usi.gov.au/students/get-a-usi. The USI number that you enter here, will be verified before continuing. Note: You must have entered your First Name, Last Name and Date of Birth prior to verifying your USI number, as these details are used in the verification process.
